Today Kevin and i hit Barwon Heads river to demo the NSP Coco Matt 12'6 .

At first sight this board looks fast with the flat rocker and light weight in the Coco Matt finish.

What a great day for a paddle !

Leo and his buddy paddled past to say Hi !

Very impressed with the constant glide of this board , need to try the 14' NSP now

Looks good Rich!
Yeah great morning for a paddle.
Lake was pure glass today.
Unreal when you take one paddle and glide 20 metres.

Looks cool...what does the coconut fibre do? is it lighter? stronger? stiffer? faster? better? edible if you get marooned?

One of the guys from Cobra (one of the guys who pioneered sandwich construction) told me that the Coco Matt as a sandwich has a ridiculously high strength to weight ratio of any material they use. So much that when they tested it they repeated the process as they thought there must of been an error somewhere. They have patented the process even. Extremely interesting material.

I'm new to the racing scene and have demoed a few boards now, how does this board compare to the previous NSP raceboards?

I found the previous boards quite slow and considerably heavier than most others in the the market?

Are they aimed at serious racing or paddling for fun?

When will they be available?

What will they retail at?

Great day for it Rich and good to run into you guys doing some testing. I knew I should have sucked my gut in. The NSP looked spectacular from a distance I thought it was a Fanatic wood. How did it compare to your Red Dream machine re glide, weight etc.

In the surfboard range the coco Matt boards are much lighter than the regular ones so I think the race sups could appeal to serious paddlers. The cost for the 12'6" is $1895 and the 14' $1995.
None in WA yet but a number of the 14' over east.

Hello TC ,

Im not a racer at all, but i have seen massive product improvements from most leading manufacturers over the past 12 months in SUP racing .
The new NSP 12'6 is worthy of a demo to compare as its a great board (serious racer) & value for light weight contruction in Coco Matt.
NSP have not had any race boards prior to range released last year , just great entry level boards from NSP..........hey check out my first SUP the 11'0 x 26 NSP longboard.

Thanks Pco , yes they are the correct NSP R/R prices.
will confirm availability on new 12'6 Coco Matt.......

Hi Leo ,

Great to see you out on the water !
Its difficult to compare a 14' Fanatic to a 12'6 NSP.

Its all about the engine / ability on top.

Just realised this topic should be in BOARD TALK / REVUES .....

Can you add any feedback regarding the stability of the board at 28 1/4? Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
