Bought my new weapon today. Went into Ocean Addicts and checked out the three new 12'6 Naish Boards. I left with the Javelin. Took it down to the lake to see how it paddled and was really impressed. Not only is it a rocket but I am so impressed with the stability in the kick turns etc. I am looking forward to putting it in the surf tomorrow.

I was originally concerned when reading about the new boards that the stability of the Jav for me for BOP Races might be an issue and was seriously considering the 12'6 Glide. Stoked that I didn't as I found the Javelin really stable. Especially in the kick turns. I have found on some other 12'6 boards that they are dead flat across the bottom and though this seems to make them stable I have found (IMO) that they don't hold that natural feel during a kick turn. The Javelin turn with great stability on the rail. Again I am looking forward to putting this in the surf tomorrow to test it out here.

So for the image quality. Taken from a phone.

Looks awesome mate, so jealous. I'm pretty much sold on the 12'6 Naish, but still not sure if I'll go the glide or the Jav yet, leaning more towards the Glide myself.

Just trying to find someone in Perth who has got them in or will get one in for me, rang 2 shops today and neither had them and then said they would call me back today about getting one in for me......they didnt

Relatively new lake called Kawana Lake. It is in Warana / Bokarina.
No lotto. Just sold 2 boards and topped it up with a the tax check.

Thinking of selling another and trying to find a good second hand 16 or 17 with a rudder. Just for the odd downwind with friends. Not serious DW wind racing just for fun runs about 15 to 20 times a year, which is why a good but cheaper board is all I am after.

Great stuff Swanie, can't wait to hear how it goes in the surf. Trying to decide between the Jav and the Fanatic red rocket at the moment.

Congrats.. Great looking board.. Try standing a few inches more forward so your toes are close to the dark line in the grip and I think you will find that you will get the nose to sit a bit lower but more importantly the tail will rise slightly to give better water release with less drag.

More pics here if you want to see the bottom .. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/Review/Pics-of-the-new-126-Naish-boards/

Simon and yourself both spotted the same thing. Thank you and all advice is appreciated. I was experimenting with where to stand on it whilst paddling. It is stable to move around on. It is also impressive how that slight shaping detail of the tail make the kick turns feel so easy.

i thought it was a 28' glide, but it must be the jav

I like the look of the new Naish 17.

i might be wrong, but it looks like they may have taken the 'hip' out of it.

if they did, i wonder whether the stability might be down a bit from the earlier models

cheers

Hey Swanie...I know you've seen my DC17' from behind alot. I have just put it up for sale yesterday in the "Buy & Sell" section on this forum. There are some pics of the front of the board that you may not have seen. Has the rudder you're after.

Check it out. You'd look really good on it...or under it!! Blue's your colour !!

Hi Sue

It is a great board you have. Very fast. Perfect for doing the fast downwinder.

Cheers Swanie

PS. I believe I have been out in front lately, though you are on the 12'6.
