Anyone heading peninsula way this arvo?? Just seen JB's pics and gotta go get wet. Never SUP'd down there so I don't know where the SUP's go, but it is the closest waves to me for sure.
The wind will be ok in the morning, but not sure that the swell is going to hang in there for Flinders. I did a bit of cliff climbing and surfed east of Flinders this morning (with Brendan) and the swell was good early, but was dropping fast.
I went but no luck, don't know the area very well so I was a little limited. Resorting to old faithful and hitting Kilcunda or the island with short board and mal.
I'll hit big left Dave, if you're still keen. Except I don't know exactly which one is Big Left, and as such don't really know where to park. BUT... at least I know it is Flinders, lol. I might have to drop past work in Glen Iris first though. If you could give me a direction and a time I can do my best to be there :)
Head to the gunnery, then follow the road around the golf course and turn left to go down the beach. Park your car in the last carpark, near the shed - pictured. Big Left is almost 1km off shore from here. If it's not too windy I'll be down there about 9:00am.
^^^Are your sunglasses are made from wood? The plastic ones sink.
Yeah why is that? These ones are the lightest weight plastic, basically frameless and they disappeared without a trace. Teach me to leave 3 pairs of cheap surf glasses with straps in the car and wear the expensive name brand in the water. Luckily I have about 7 other pairs lying about - I seem to collect Oakley and Ray Ban products for some reason.

Funny you say that Oliver. Mine fell off at the start of the SHQ Cerebus race. I dived down to find them and couldn't see them anywhere only to find mine are pretty much have neutral bouyancy and were sitting about 12 inches under the water. Weird!
So who got in the water today and where? How was it?
