Myself, Hux, and Jen been loving life over here in Maui - done 3 Maliko's already and it's only day 2. Did the 15km Maliko run in 73 minutes. The elite guys are doing between 65 - 70 mins.. THATS GOLD.
The runners have just been insane. My new custom SIC 17'6 '' BULLET is a weapon of a downwind board - once you get it up and running - it just glides forever ..have to really stand on the tail to put the breaks on. Saw Jenny take off on her very first Maliko runner and surfed it for BULK Hux was frothing like a little grommit. He phoned home, begged for some money off his parents and now has a brand new F -16. Me mate Mark Raaphorst lent Jenny his wife Donna's F-14. Jenny's just STOKED ............. stay tunned for another Maliko update.

Alison - I'm sure you'll get sorted out with a board - everyone is incredibly helpful!

If anyone is after rental boards - the following two shops had 14ft race boards and decent paddles (I had to do some looking):

Second Wind (808-877-7467) and Naish Pro Store (808-8711500), both are at 111 Hana Hwy in Kahului. There are a number of other rental shops within that block, but finding anything above 14ft is difficult.

I guess the other option is to buy second-hand/new from some of the excellent board makers here and sell when you go, or take it with you.
