I just posted this video interview with Zane Schweitzer where he talks about the two back to back Maui to Molokai races he did on the Foil and more. It's kind of long but lots of good stuff in there:

Amazing race and definitely on my bucket list. Every year I see this race I remind myself that I have to do it. I had not realised how popular the 'clog' type downwind boards are. No doubt they have major advantages. What were the wind speed averages and was this the reason for their popularity as I had always thought sub 20 knot averages would be the 'clog' and over 20 knots average wind speeds the traditional DW board?

A little off topic, but this is a video of our weekly training group, this is the 2 mile course we do on light wind days.

Our training group doing a time trial on a light wind day in May. Every Wednesday our group either does a downwinder if there is good wind or this 2 mile time trial course in Maunalua Bay. In this video: Nathan Cross (on the BP unlimited board), Ty Judson, Jeff Chang, Mote Aguirre, Sofie Simonsson, Skyla Rayner, and Jim Harbour.
For finish time results, see: v1.racesplitter.com/races/9EA1959E3

I finally got around to editing this drone footage of Time Trial #124 in May 2018 when our Blue Planet team riders were in town.
