I'm guessin' it's a windsurfer..The wider slalom type with the twin back straps and the front straps out on the rails.

They SUP ok..but nothing like the real thing..and a paddle upgrade would be a good idea also...but at least he's on the water having a good time..

I've paddled one of those..At only 8'6" long..but a whopping three feet wide..they are as stable as.

I was also surprised how straight they paddle..I expected it to want to turn with every paddle stroke.

Are you thinking about getting a real SUP board?

My brother is waiting for a Starboard 14.8 maybe in xmas season and Im thinking about building a plywood distance board inspired from kayak stitch n glue solution.
