There will be support crew in boats to help out any person who feels they can't go on. I have been informed there is a prediction for NW winds for the day of the race. If conditions are not in favour, the coarse may be changed but the distance will be the same.
Go on all you SUP riders get out and give it a go.

I should be doing it. I'm sure others will go down so we can arrange cars at the start and finish.

Not sure if we need PFDs or not but will take one anyway. Ive got a spare if anyone needs one.
The last section of the race will be a test as the tide will be going out at the time of finishing and it runs fairly quick thrugh the narrow section.

Training? What's that? Isn't the point just to let the wind and waves blow you along?

Already registered for the one on the 14th, using this weekend's race as a warm up for the Mandurah Outrigger one.

What a great race held by the Star surf shop of Mandurah. The guys did a great job. They had plenty of support vessels and made sure everyone was right.
The course was great with plenty of runners on offer and a fairly consistent 15kn breeze at our backs. The last km was an effort as the breeze was channelling along the river and you had to paddle directly into it. There were 14 paddlers all up.
Scot McKercher(STB) won with Mick Galvin(DC) second. Supbelly(JL) came third with a huge effort in his first ever race.
Once again a big thanks to everyone who organised and volunteered their time to make this event happen.
Cheers

Thanks a lot to the organisers and sponsors for yesterdays race.

Was great fun and for a great cause. Although the last 2km into that head wind was hard work

For those who did not know the race was called "Skyes the Limit" and was named in memory of a kid with autism (Skye) who died last year. The proceeds and sponsors money went to the Autism Society/Foundation and was a great cause.

Well done to the winners as far as i could remember they were:

1) Scott (new Starboard brushed carbon board);
2) Mike Galvin (Dale Chapman);
3) Belly (Jimmy Lewis Albatross);
4) Luke (jenkz) (Naish glide);
5) me (Reagan) (SB pin);
6) That Mandurah outrigger caneo guy (?) sorry
7) Cam (surf4fun) (SB pin);
8) Stewart (Naish glide); and

everyone else whose name i did not catch well done

A big thanks to everyone who was involved in organiseing a running the event.. It was ran exceptionly well and I had an absoulte ball..

The only thing i could fault with the race was it not being timed.. Would have loved to know how fast we did it in.. But being the first one they organised they did really well i thought..

Like Stewie said Jenkz thanks again for the lifts back to the car and your wife lugging my gear back..

It was really good to meet everyone and i cant wait for next weekend..Hopefully like Reagan said NO head wind..
