Just got back from a boat trip to the Maldives - what a great spot!

We lucked out with the waves, getting 4-5 foot (swell size) with bigger bombs, most days. Surfed 'Jails' and 'Cokes' mainly - both are right handers and fairly hollow by Maldivian standards.

It was awesome to finally get the SUP in some consistent barrels and attempt to get the SUP tube thing sussed.

I mainly rode my gun as the waves had a bit of size and it sits in the barrel nicely.

Sick i would love to do that one day , how much does a trip like that cost if you dont mind me asking!

Hey Teatrea, we went on a boat called the 'Ocean Dancer' which is an amazing boat but a little pricey at about $3600 for the week including airfares, food, etc.

You can do it for about 2 1/2 grand I think, depending on the boat. Maldives is also a little harder to get to than say Indo - which adds to the cost. It's not as gnarly as Indo however and very consistent wave wise.

Hey Kissa, nah no aggro at all. The maldives are cool cause EVERYONE is a tourist (except for the odd Maldivian, who are super nice).

As long as you don't paddle inside and you wait your turn it's all good!!

It may be a little different if 12 Sup riders rocked up though..... I was the only one in our group apart from the Boat's owner, who has been there 20 years.

Hey Starlet, nah no hassle except getting caught inside on the reef when you don't make the wave, booties a must although the reef is pretty flat.

We flew Singapore and World safaris organise an extra 15 kg of baggage pp so was able to take a spare board even!

hey eO, it was the boat captains and he used a GoPro HD...tiny little thing. That's why it looks so fish eye ish.
