congrats, nice vid as well, id say finishing 2nd behind dave kalama is a pretty acceptable result especially after 32 miles

Awesome life experience, who cares about the cost, you only live once. Great stuff!

PS: Trophy would make a nice salad bowl

I remember standing in the Outrigger Canoe Club in Hawaii after my first Molakai OC6 race in 1990 and gazing in awe at the wooden bowls in the Trophy cabinet. Seems like a salad bowl now but back then I would have given anything to win one.

Well done Phil , I reckon it was money well spent.

Thanks for the video, great paddling. I would love to do this in a few years. I'd probably start as a team though. I doubt I'm ready for such a grueling paddle solo just yet. Well done.

Looking at that pic maybe this thread should be titled "MOST 'PRACTICAL' TROPHY".

.......trophy is a bit sad given the big effort required.....reminds me of a set of bowls my mother bought back from Fiji 40 years ago...made from monkey wood or something......you really have to wonder at the mentality of the organisers.....did it come complete with bananas at least.
