Hi everyone,

I have just started on paddle boarding, and since I am a beginner and don't know anyone who's into the sport, I am looking for cruising partners who are interested to paddle around Sydney Northern Beaches or North Shore (specially those who have extra patience with first learners lol).

Please contact me if you you're on the same boat, have recently started like me or know someone who might be interested. Any tips and advices are more than welcome!

A very happy 2013 to all!

Cheers,

Carol

If only this was a dating site! Even if this thread was engineered by some sh!thead short boarder wanting to crush a SUPers heart, I hope it is still OK to dream.

Carol, if you are real have a look at the Sydney Paddle and Surf Club. There are a heap of girl members and they encourage beginners. Oh, if I am in Manly feel free to paddle over to my yacht and say hello!

Hi Carol,
Welcome to Seabreeze. I will check with my Mrs if it's ok to paddle with an attractive blonde from north side. Let you know.

Well at least I commented.
Didn't want to have Carol feeling left out.
It's all a bit sensitive around here.
Even DJ edited his comment to appear for accommodating.

Hi Carol and welcome to Seabreeze.
Come up to the Central Coast (hr north from Sydney) plenty of waterways, protected bays and beaches to choose from...
The Entrance is great for flat water paddling, Toowoon Bay (voted cleanest beach 2012) is protected from swell the water is so clear and also has some small point breaks to explore...

Geez some of you boys are hopeless!

A girl gets on here asking a perfectly reasonable question and get a bunch of mostly useless responses!

Welcome to the breeze Carol, hopefully you find some like minded people to paddle with.
As surfershaneA kind of suggested, get in touch with the Sydney Paddle Surf Club (SPSC) as there's probably some other girls in the club keen for people to paddle with.

Also, I'm not sure if its still running but I think Jamieson Park Paddle were running a social time trial series on sunday mornings on Narrabeen Lake for all different levels of paddlers. Google their website to find out more info, but if you can get along to events run by either of these groups you might meet some others keen to paddle during the week too.

If you're ever up on the Goldy, plenty of people to paddle with up here too.

www.spsc.com.au is a good place to start. Come along to the next event at Palm beach and have a chat to the crew. There are plenty of people around that will be happy to offer advice.

Thank you Tracy. I don't mind at all, actually I prefer as I am just learning. Manly Dam and Narrabeen are 2 of my 3 favourite spots.

I would love to go for a ride, will PM you soon.

Carol, you are blessed living on the north side as you are spoilt for choice for flat water paddle locations. I am over north side a couple days a week with work and usually throw the Sup on my work van and paddle in between jobs. Clontarf,Balmoral and Manly (harbour side) would be my fav spots depending on winds. Good luck.

Hey Carol,
Toowoon bay is the next beach north from Shelly beach see photo.
There is also flat water SUPA titles held at The Entrance in Feb, will be a lot of paddle boarders there, sponsers and chance to do some demos.

I completely agree with you Scotty88!
My favourite is Balmoral, I have "learned" SUP (as I was very skilled...) in there.
Thank you for your attention and a very Happy New Year!

Thanks Kieranr! I have browsing a lot about SUP lately and I am nearly sure I have bumped into their website or some who mentions them.
I just wish Rosebay was a bit closer... Although I obviously won't be able to join very often, that's a great option for something different on my weekends! Will visit soon!
Thanks for your reply and Happy New Year!
