What type of board is that in the last pic?

How big was the lens used to get those shots?

To me it looks like a Starboard nose with the black painted stringer on the bottom?

Thats me and im riding a 10ft Honolua board. They are shaped by a local shaper on the Gold Coast Daniel MacDonald.

And its made up of 6 bits of foam with stronger foam stripes going down the middle.

So where they join it looks like a stringer but its not

Thanks SECARTERMUSS nice pic's, looked like a nice sesh, geez it would be nice to still be in boardies only I was up on the Goldie in Jan/Dec when you guy's were having that wild weather and huge swell, biggest waves i had ever seen on the Goldie. It was a pitty there was so much debri in the water and the beaches were closed until the last couple days of my holiday.

Here's a pic from the Q1 observation tower on the day the weather stated to clear. The dark line along the beach is the washed up debri that went the whole length of the Goldie

Can u see wat i mean now DJ?

With the stretched blank (6 bits of foam)

The glue makes it look like they are stringers but their just higher density of foam stripes.

Yeah..It's a nice looking board..very nice.

How's it holding up to compression dents under the feet areas?..(just wondering)..the high density foam must help.

Is it just me or does the that leggie looks a bit on the skinny side....(Not picking)....I think I've seen thicker ones on boogie boards..

Also..That carbon/kevlar swallow tail single flyer (winger?) with the wood deck and pink pad looks like a beast..[}:)]..I like it.

Thanks for the extra pics..It's a shame you cant get a good view of the outline from that view..I like the nose and tail shape.

You've gotta love the 10'6" Naish..It looks great from all angles..

Very good, No dents at all which is surprising.

Yer its a short board leggy, as i have snapped a fair few with the solid 5 ft swell we have been surfing l8ly so we are running out of leggies lol.

Btw DON'T buy FCS leggies we had a 10 ft leggy and it lasted 2 months, we didnt snap it the stitching just came undone.

I just got a Creatues leggy today, one made for Waimea so that should hold up hopefully.

Yer the kevlar with the wood deck looks quite good!

You dont have to worry about dings on the rails cuz its tough as nails

I was talkin' about leggies the other day to the guys in the shop..and they reckon Balin are the best..?

How popular are Balin leggies up there..What about Full Bore?

One of the US guys was asking me about them (FB) but I don't seem to see them here anymore.

He said they were the best but can't get them in the US anymore.

Yer i dunno i have never used them to be honest,

Their not very popular up here, most SUPers are using Creatures, Ocean and Earth and some use Dakine.

I havent seen a full bore leggy but i have heard of them.

Oh ok yer i wouldnt know never used Full bore leggies.

Is Balin popular down their?

Yes..But I think Balin are so popular because they are made local (Flinders or Rye I think)..and they claim to be the only leggies still made in Oz.

Full Bore are also pretty local (local company)..they're in Torquay I think..but made OS.

I heard that the way to go for sup is half coiled and half straight..with the straight end hanging off the back of the board and dragging in the water putting tension on the coiled end that goes on the ankle...Sound like an idea..There has only been prototypes so far but someone might make them if they work that good.
