The commentator is referring to 1st and 2nd place in the 12'6 class, Chris Stevenson won the 14 class on a Suplove stingray, you can see him in the foreground of the video.

Sounds like it was a pretty cool event. There was a big Surf Expo in Florida leading up to the race, so a bunch of the pros from California were in town already.

There was $13,000 in prize money in the elite class (split evenly between men and women).

$5,000 for 1st and $1,000 for 2nd, so no wonder Jamie and Danny were sprinting so hard...
