I have to admit, since purchasing an iPhone about 6+ months ago now, and now replacing my PC with a MAC recently, I have come to really love my Apples. After spending 10 years working with them @ windga, I've always stuck up for my PC's at home[}:)]. But I've gotta say, I have changed

Welcome aboard, next time someone asks you about anti-virus software or asks why their computer is running so slow you have permission to give them a smug grin and say "Oh I wouldn't know about that, my mac just keeps running really well"

Same here.

The iPhone 2G was my first Apple product. It opened my eyes to the Apple world. Next came my MacBook Pro, then my iPad.

It's so painful to still be using PCs at the office.

But times are changing in the work place too. Lots of iPhones in the hands of our upper management. It won't be long before the CEO gets a Mac then.....wohoo

Just purchased a new laptop and was seriously considering Mac.

Great and all but for business one thing stopped me dead in my tracks. NO RIGHT CLICK! I ended up with Windows 7 professional, it actually surprises me how many of the features on a new Laptop and in Windows are ripped off from Apple.

BUT Try work in Excel all day and not have the right click button or have to press the Alt button then click every time you want to make a note in a cell, copy or paste.

I know they're great for everything else. Pirate software is also a lot easier to get for PC

Imagine having a sneak peak at their Marketing and product release strategy for the next five years though. A plan for global domination! My 4yo summed up the Ipad 'Wow, it's a giant IPhone' not sure why anyone would bother with it.

I used Macs from the very first one in the early 80's and owned several myself. I switched to Windows PC's about 10 years ago and haven't looked back. Even the oldest one is still working with XP and a few extra $20 memory chips.

I love that I can jump on ebay and buy stuff and pop it in and it works. You can even buy stuff from the supermarket.

I also love that I don't have to wait for the bank or the post office or whoever to get around to making a Mac version of their software.

The reality is that computers are computers no matter what the brand. They all have to do the same things. They all suffer from the same problems. In the early days Macs suffered from locks and load conflicts. Now it's all version and driver issues. You just download the latest driver from the manufacturer's web site and all problems go away.

Having said all that, I love my iPhone. I have been sailing on a yacht in Bass Strait and been able to access radar images and weather forecasts. This weekend downthe coast we watched video podcasts because there was nothing on TV.

Worrier - I think he was giving you a load of bs. My wife, who is the least tech savvy person on the planet, took my first gen iPhone over to the UK and France and was able to buy and instal a prepaid French sim - with data access as well.

I was on Macs years and years ago, then the office went to pc's and have been on them for years. I agree with others - the iPhone and now the iPad is going to bring a lot of people over to (or back to) Apple. I recently bought a 27" iMac - loving every minute of it. Fabulous screen and really great for photos, video etc etc (although I now really notice low resolution stuff because you get used to a very high quality screen pretty quickly).

And if you have issues with not being on Windows, you can instal and run it on your Mac. On my iMac I can run Mac OS and Windows7 side by side, no issues at all. Windows runs just as well as on my pc laptop, probably faster.
