how about a category specifically for the inflatables, this is going to become such a large segment of the market. with big improvements coming, stiffness, rail shape, material technology, the major brands will be investing heavily to get the jump on their competitors.

Will be interested to see what comes along. Having watched the video around Venice and wondering what the inflatable sups are like in the surf - I will what with interest - might be time to work towards a Christmas present this year. How do I explain sup number 6. I think I might have to reduce the quiver a tad to make room

Starboard Astra seems to be the go from my web based trawling. Bring on the options!

If you want to see how the inflatable Sups go in the surf have a look at any of the 3 PADDLE TO BATTLE MS videos.

I watched this video of PADDLE TO BATTLE MS:

Some pretty exciting conditions. Also, excellent camera work and editing.

I also watched another video of PADDLE TO BATTLE MS, though it’s production values weren't quite as good as the above. However, I didn’t see any inflatables in either, unless you’re talking the rubber duckies that placed the buoys

Could you post the link? Thanks.

Naish have introduced a N1SCO one design racing circuit here in Aus starting 30th June on the Goldy!! This was announced roughly two weeks ago. So yeah, the inflato's are definitely getting up there in terms of racing.....

As you're based in WA, yeah I can see why you want something over there, however logistically it would be a nightmare for the guys at Naish to hold a stand alone event. These races are in conjunction with other events that are happening ie. Creek 2 Creek on the Goldy, SPSC in Sydney and a SUP Vic event in Melbourne.... It was a great success having a N1SCO race associated with the Battle to Paddle MS here in Sydney, hence it's inclusion in other events as part of the circuit.

More details will most certainly be posted on Naish's FB page: www.facebook.com/pages/Naish-Australia/133760356766483?fref=ts

Red thumbs for such a benign topic! there must be some bored seabreezers out there, I suggested this as I have an interest in inflatables, I have my short surf sups but I would like paddle boards for the family I can pack easily on my boat when I go to the Abrolhos surfing and inflatables make such good sense.
You would have to have your head in the sand not to see the big developments in inflatables in the past couple of years, who knows we may even see inflatable performance surfboards in a few years, I for one look forward to any development and an inflatable sup category means I don't have to trawl through the general posts. Red thumb away or better still avoid the topic!!
