Can you explain whose hand that would be at the front of his board in the first clip? (0:15)...did he collect a surfer on the way in?

I think some of the bend of his paddle shaft is because of the camera set up. THe angle suggests some head cam. Im sure he is a strong dude but I think the video reflects an optical distortion mainly.

The paddle 'bend' is definately lens distortion :D What an awesome setting though, check out the back drops.

If the paddle is bending the earth must be a bit pointy too, the horizon looks a bit more curvy to me too.

If that is a hand then he must have three.. two on the paddle and one on the nose of his board.. hanging five..

Lairds using the chest mount with his new GoPro HD and with the wide angle lens everything gets distorted.

It's def a foot then. He's riding the nose. But I'll just believe that he collected a couple of surfers on his way through.
