Honolua in association with Outrigger Australia are running a Relay race from Southport Spit to Currumbin Alley.

Divisions:
OC1 & OC2
SUP
Paddle Boards

Date: 25 October 2008

Two person teams for SUP / Paddle Boards & OC1's

Still working on things with event organisers.

This is a LONG DISTANCE RACE so it is Open Ocean Boards

Please tell me it's from Currumbin to the spit and not the other way round ?

I would say the weather will tell us what way it will be run - I am still not sure if it is to Currumbin as last year they ran from Southport to Tweed river. Still waiting on more information.

I just payed Dale Chapman a visit and picked up an ex Demo DC16 , I take possesion of it Monday week after the sunny coast race.

So I'm in for the 2 man team on the 25th here on the Goldie.

No the one before it the white one with orange on the nose , but the blue one is a sweet looking thing but it's sold as well.

Ohh k atleast you know its a fast board cause Kelly won on it in the Snapper to Currumbin Race early this year even after this stack.

Just a word from the organiser to get Support boat organised early.

Race is still on but allow time to transport cars to race finish as Indy is on so you can't use Gold Coast Hwy.

John would also like people to contact him if racing - you can pay on the day for entry.

Just got off the phone to John Steward there will be only registrations on the race day at 8am for a 9.45am start .The sups will get a 20 min start on the outriggers.The call will be made Friday arvo if the race starts at Southport or Tweed.

The race is open to all Sup sizes.

Give John a call and let him know if you are racing so he can get shirts ordered , there are already 10 teams who are going to race so it's shaping up to be a great race.[/b]

Yeah sounds good. I did a small one this arvo from nobbys to burleigh just to get wet.
Thursday is looking good with 25 knots and there should be 2 to 3 foot of surf.

Hey Piros what time are you thinking of paddling thursday morn. After seeing you racing on sat morn at tweed river I wish I was doing that. We decided to paddle the canoes from the tweed to pottsville because it was supposed to be a northerly. Of course it blew southerly and the paddle took over 4 1/2 hours. I jumped into the canoe just after the pumping jetty, and had to go the rest of the way to potty.

I need to do the paddle early (5am ish) it would be great to see the E-Jackulator in action , is that time O.K for you

That's 4 o'clock my time, I'll be just going to bed. I'll see what I can organise i usually take the boys to school on thursday. Haven't finished the ejackulator yet have been flat out grassing. But all I need to do is glass on legrope plug and paint it. Still trying to sort out options of paint. Was going to go with 2 pak marine paint but the cost is getting up there.

The 7 day forecast is looking great so far for the Race with a thumping S.E and good swell predicted for next Thursday.

Race Logistics for this weekend.

Just had a call from the Race Director for the Seaway to Seaway race.

Ladies SUP / Paddleboards start time 9:00am
Mens SUP / Paddlesbaords Start Time 9:30am
Main Field Start time 10:00am

Start is at second Boat ramp at Runaway Bay - can confirm this closer to race day.

Please let everyone no of start times.
