Hi folks. Feel a little embarrassed showing you the snaps of my barge after seeing so many fine examples of craftsmanship in this forum. Nevertheless... here is the home brew .. borne of a block of foam, no plan, no blank, no experience, no expertise but a ****load of enthusiasm. Anyway... the images show it's maiden voyage at Brighton marina on a beautiful calm evening a couple of weeks ago (and my dog, Ace) and then some kind of finished product in my back yard today in the rain. Board dimension: 10ft 10in x 29½ in x 4 in. 3 layers of 6 oz on the deck and 2 on the bottom with an extra deck pad. The weight is about 14 kg. Fin is out of my Southpoint KT96. Paddle is home made but works beautifully (I don't know any different though!) Had my first surf paddle at Pt Roadknight, Anglesea earlier in the week ... caught a few waves and had a great time... can't wait to get down there again and hope my balance (and bad back) improves. Cheers.

Nice work log man!

Just wondering- is that area protected from southerlies/southwesterlies? Just looks like there is a bit of a breakwater/pier there that might offer some protection.

Cheers! Ronnie

Hi Logman,
Pretty sure I saw you at Pt Roadnight last Monday catching some of these beautiful little waves. Didn't realise she was a home-made - well done! What a great day when everything else was very average, you could catch them all the way from the point to the sand on the beach.
