Went in the comp today and the Alley was looking really, really ugly with at least 30 knot NW winds ripping through the place.
We all know how much fun surfing northerly wind chop surf is on a beach that loves SSE swell/wind.
Bummed out after the first round as it was a total struggle out in the water due to the wind.

.Just staying in one place in the line up was difficult enough and you felt a bit like a human sail.
Good to see all of the different boards on the beach and the fin setups.
Some of the boys were making the crappy windchop surf look good.
Officials postponed the heats until tomorrow after fear their tent was going to blow away!!.
Real shame as the Alley produces a great SUP wave most days.
Hopefully the winds are predicted to be SSW in the morning for the remaining heats.
