DK is the man! Was out at Manu Bay Raglan a few weeks ago (DK is royalty there) and it was pretty crowded. Was on a shortboard. A bunch of SUPpers joined the crowd, but it was not really cool for (most of) them to be there, it was big and pretty heavy, and 4 out of 5 were waaay too rookie to be in 6ft crowded surf on a SUP.

Saw a few close calls, and some really dangerous things go down, and caught my last one for the day thinking it was better to pull the pin on it rather than risk a SUP to the head.

On the wave in, saw 3 more SUPS joining the line up, thought "oh s hit". Rode wave around point and discovered it was DK and some whanau on the SUPs. Thought, ok, this dude can do whatever he wants here, he owns the place! Sat in the car for a bit waiting to see DK shred up some waves, was stoked on it. But he never even came out near the crowd. He stayed with this little group of grommets he was with, and just chilled on the uncrowded inside, showing these kids how to SUP. It pretty much sums up what a good fella he is, choosing to spend time with his family and show them some things, rather than getting out there in 6ft and clean Manu bay!

Keeping the stoke alive for sure! Good on ya DK!
