Had a great sesssion today on the 12,6 fanatic 3ft and the occassional bigger one coming through , scored some epic long rides.These big boards are so much fun , except for when i broke my leggie and had to swim , thanks to the fellow stand up paddler who grabbed my boardI was amazed at how well the board surfed and turned , i took the big axe fin out and put my fin from my PSH in and it turned unreal. Best part was catching great waves out wide from everyone else , virtually had the Alley to my self..Here is a pic of the fin i put in , didnt loose anything in stability still tracked pretty good and made it faster.To cap off a stoked out morning im off too Brisvegas to watch the SUNS do a job on the bluebaggers

I have had a fun session at Point Danger on the 12'6 Fanatic with only 3 other people out, initialy I used the fin supplied which significantly resitricted mobility and then with the fin out of my PSH 12fter and boy what a difference, The board really comes alive and is lots of fun.

The issue as usualy would be people with a 12'6 and a few punters out could get dangerous very quickly if they cant control it! The bow of the 12'6 could turn someone into a kabab

Agree Phil , being mindfull off what and who is around is important.The good thing is with these boards you dont really have to be where every one is.Also the waves i was catching petered out in a deep gutter , so no real danger of being caught in the wash.

There was an article in todays Sunday Mail , which wont do sup any favours.Downwinders April fools joke may turn out to be no joke at all.And i can understand why , i seen a few suppers where they shouldnt have been yesterday.Had a word too one the other day , obviousley learning the ropes , but putting himself in some potentially dangerous spots. Surfing it seems to me creates a hird mentality , the sheep like to stick togeather
