Hi Simondo, I can see where you're comin from in not wanting to exclude anyone, and I know in jacko's previous post before the race was cancelled last week that any boards (and in fact any craft) were welcome to paddle, just not in an official class. However if Roar are being generous enough to run these races for free and donate some prizes too, it's only fair to offer them for the majority of the participants.
The situation on Currumbin Creek up here at the moment has 10-20 paddlers turning up at training at 4:30am every day of the week in a few different groups, with probably 40-50 people in total training at least once a week. It's probably about a 50/50 split between 12'6" and 14' boards in these training sessions, with very few people using unlimited boards, so you have to cater for what's working in the local area.
The majority (but not all) of paddlers up here who paddle on unlimited boards in the ocean also have a smaller race board too and Jacko has offered a couple of his extra demo boards for people to borrow if needed, so everyone is pretty much catered for.
I'm sure if the interest grows they'd be more than happy to add in an unlimited division in the future.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there tomorrow afternoon for some fun.

tide will be coming in, so a easy paddle down the creek a bit harder coming back.

As with the last race we were going to hold you can paddle anything you like but the main classes are 14ft, 12'6, and surfboard sup!!

Ha Ha Lol is that girls or crabs.Those girls are weapons , im gunna have to do some training just to match it with them , let alone the guys.

Im not on Roids either......nor do i have crabs
Just really really lucky to be surrounded by alot of talented people who are willing to help, and motivate

you sure- about the roids haha.

i knew angie and simone would give to a few of the guys in the race stakes. these two have been powerhouses of late- it's been really hard to shake them and they don't give up.
