Hey Lacey, what is the 15'3"? I'm sure you have probably told us but I can't remember....
Funny how different boards suit different conditions, been paddling heaps with Paul on his F16 lately and sometimes he is much faster downwind and sometimes I am - and it can vary as the conditions vary during a single run. We had one run that started off with him catching little runners almost without paddling, I just couldn't get the Glide 17 to catch anything. Later on a rain squall hit us and it would have been 35 to 40knots pissing rain smoothed out the surface of the waves and I left him for dead. The Glide 17 loves those ballistic wind waves, just feels so comfortable surfing them, but in smaller 15 to 25 I can just catch anything on the Starboard Race 14, stuff I wouldn't have a hope of catching on the 17 - just don't have the power to accelerate it fast enough. Just love the Race 14 but there is something epic about taking drops and linking runners on the 17 from way way back.
Sorry to hijack the thread!
hi, it's a dc 15'3 x 25.5" with chines
its a flier. yesterday was light winds, but an organised swell that was spaced. it felt like the board was made for it.the board actually has some rocker too.
the glide did the same thing for me too. it is awesome in heavy conditions.
i always reckoned if the board was 3 to 4 kgs lighter, it would probably be more all rounded. i would be the first to order a lighter naish 17 if they ever did one. it has a beautiful outline- beautiful everything
interestingly, on the 15'3, i was hardly paddling yesterday, just a couple of taps here and there and easierly out doing others boards(including a naish 17)
cheers
