This is one I tried out on the weekend, Suction Cup mount at the rear of my board.

What has everyone else tried?

Welcome to seabreeze Chris. Can I call you Smithy ?
I'm not sure I would rely on the suction cap on it's own. I think it mentions on the pack not to use when surfing.
Have you tied it to your leggy plug as well ?
Have you got a floaty backdoor attached ?

Nice footage.

Here is a couple using the chest strap /harness. Works really well, although I dont know how secure it would be in bigger surf.

Yeah Smitty will do haha, yeah I had it leased to the leggy with the floaty backdoor, it lasted 5 big waves then came unstuck but still pretty impressive with the suction, it would be better with still water paddling but a good perspective from the tail.

The chest mount looks pretty good, I haven't tried that one yet

Hi guys..love the footage. I have just started using my Go-Pro on my SUP. This grab angle is from the nose using one of the stick on mounts that came with the camera (in very small waves).. I taped a bit of foam onto the camera housing in case it comes off..a bit risky but 'stoked' with the results. I tried the chest mount but maybe a bit too much movement in the footage, I also wore it head mounted but it makes the waves look really small.

anyway..all the best, great fun playing around with these gadgets. Enjoy! Nick

some nice vids, think the suction cup view or something from behind like that would be for downwinding or maybe noseriding, would be a great look at the footwork involved, the chest mount goes pretty good, i normally mount my camera on the front of the board or i use a gath helmet, i agree this method does make the waves look much smaller, added some vids i made to show you the mounts i use, tried mounting the camera on my paddle but i move it around to much

Hey Chris,

Lou used the suction cap mount on the back of his m14 on a downwind run from Voodoo to port hacking was a great angle! Also helped prove that there was a shark hanging out with us on the run!

Thats great, love the pics with the go pro, always exciting when you load them up and hope for the best. Do you have any footage of the shark?

here is a shot from the front of the board with the Go pro Surf mount

here is back pack mounted -

You can see the backpack in some of the shots - getting the angle right is tricky

Its not an option if you are going to fall off in surf

I am yet to see any footage of the alleged Shark. I keep asking Lou and Pete to put it up. I think they wanted a rest that day......Come on Lou, is this enough bait?

I have an nsp sup with the rubber deck fully covering the top of the board. I had planned to use the surfboard mount but im guessing it won't work on the rubber deck.
I'd welcome suggestions of how I can mount the go pro camera on this board.
Cheers

The surf mount pack comes with an adapter that fits into an FCS fin plug. If you dont mind a small hole in your deck, get a board repair guy to put one in your deck.

I've got an NSP too, I put the mounts on a Perspex base which follows the contours of the nose then gaffa tape it to the board
