If I could surf I shorty I probably would too, I get the point your making that if you want to go super short then get the real deal.

I guess I was saying short means different things to different people and we all have different ideas on what ripping is and differing levels of skill.

As long as your having fun who cares!

It's only a personal observation for me in my current state of mind. When I started SUP a few years back I was much heavier and unfit. I had been riding shortboards for 20 years and SUP was a whole new challenge that allowed me to surf when I had time not just when there was waves and I had time.

Now by paddling SUP along with some other activities I feel the best I have on a shortboard for many years. It's exciting, I am getting heaps of waves and feeling what I have not felt for a long time.

The point of the post was not to derail anybody elses desires to surf high performance on SUP but to perhaps have people remember that it's about fun and most people started on big boards and it was that fun that hooked them.
