Solid advice Hilly, however, if you can't afford the time or $$$...

Whatever you do take out the IN TRANSIT INSURANCE and if paying an individual, negotiate to make maybe a 10-20% deposit or whatever your happy to lose with balance payable on receipt of a signed proof of delivery doc. from the seller direct, or a copy from the courier/freight company. Now you know for certain the goods are in transit, covered by insurance and hopefully to arrive intact!

I'm still waiting (5 mths later) to settle an insurance claim through "TEMANDO" (my chosen freight agent) Temando procured a competitive rate (I paid approx $80 including insurance to ship an 8' Carbon Pro from Vic. to Perth) from Allied Transport... and I'm still waiting and waiting and!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck!
