That takes the cake the corkscrew release , a French wasn't riding it was he ? looks like the board is trying to punch out a turd.

Let me guess.

It's on the nose and is designed to create some kind of venturi type turbulence under the length of the board to lower surface tension and increase speed.

That's my guess, not too sure if it would work though.

I'd reckon so, probably more drag than any relief in surface tension and drag from that.

I think it's really a prop from a Bond Movie. 00SUP.

I think its like the ones they use on ships , a bow and stern wave are created when a vessel is moving and it is supposed to cancel out the two waves , ie flat line it to reduce drag and turbulence.

Thats my theory
