i can't believe the fin has no damage, it made an almighty crack when it made contact with a large fiberglass object of unknown description!

yeah, better or worse, which everway somone wonts to look at it.

imo must suppers don't wilfully take off regardless of whats in front of them or inside,s### still happens, but hey they were just a bunch of kids taking off on anything that was there and having a good time of it i suppose.

wtf there is no justification for a Sup'r running over a surfer paddling out who is making the effort to get inside as not to get in the way of the wave...ie taking on the white water unlike 50% of people at the alley. Said Sup'r had the chance to turn or take action, Surfer paddled his best agianst the sweep and WAS giving the guy on wave (Sup'r) right of way!

but you said better than ----, i didn't see that incident you saw so i can't comment, i just saw 2 or 3 prone paddle boarders at a time dropping in on guys riding on the inside and they had very little control of what they were doing.there is no need for the wtf bit either please. it's very easy to take the high ground when you haven't had a surf crash or have you ?

when I said better I was being sarcastic....as there is way to much crap going down at the alley....some one is going to get hurt bad (very) and the **** is going to hit the fan...

yes i have had a few.....all at the alley first one was a mal guy paddling out, going for the shoulder with about 3 others, i was surfing the wave and had another guy on the wave infront of me....no where to go but straigten up and jump off to lesson the impact....my fin in his board...and payed for half even though it wasnt my fault and was sandwiched in from all directions...the other was yesterday, paddling out, guy on wave, so i hold postion to let him past, going to paddle over white water and a mal rider paddling out just infront and to my right rolls over so now straight in front of me...i road up over the white water and had to jump off at the peak...my board hit me in the hip/ribs with the rail and split it open.....all but snapped it!

the less and less I surf the alley the more im over it...

When you say alley are you referring to Laceys as well? I tend to surf just laceys as there is a bit more room to move around and find a spot a little bit away from others.

this stack was a case of overcrowding and riders being out of their depth in crowded surf, i took off, saw the guy scrapping for the shoulder instead of taking a hit in the whitewater, so i set my line to bottom turn around him, as i got closer to him he has panicked and stopped paddling. i think i did a good job to not run over him with the main fin and also bailed just before impact to take the weight off the fins. just a surfing accident that happens in crowded surf.
i saw a girl paddling in as i was paddling out on that day with a gash on her face, she was doing the right thing, taking a hit in the whitewater and a grommie did a reo onto the foam and the nose of his board went into her cheek and she recieved 4 stitches. it was hectic out there!

see grommies doing that sort of sh## all the time- surprised it doesn't happen more often. hope he was proud of himself

Ive been hit by a clubbie boat , an oc1 and have had more than a few words exchanged with prone guys at that spot , i think if you want to surf their you just have to accept it and be on your toes.When paddling out i always go way wide and then come in and check whats behind me , when it has a bit of size.Caus i dont care what anyone says you cant controll a sup board in big white water.

You also have to be patient and pick your waves.but i wont surf their on weekends if its overly crowded.
