Had the opportunity last month to travel to Fiji - Coral Coast on the Moon Tours/Sunova SUP tour, having 10 days at the Beach House resort just south of Sigatoka we were able to enjoy some pretty awesome surf conditions along that particular part of the coast.

The Beach House is a good point to base the tour from and it has a really good vibe about the place, the staff are super friendly and there was plenty of food to eat, a particular favourite being the fresh hot scones each afternoon at 4pm. It even has a wave directly out front for an afternoon session if you can be bothered getting out of the hammocks.

The coast line throws up multiply surf spots, lefts, rights, A frames, some big, some fast and some clean, there were so many options that provided something for everyone on the tour. The surf guides, and in our case our local 'Lessee' were very knowledgeable on the conditions and the pick of the spots working that day. He led us to some of the best waves I've had the pleasure of surf SUP'ing.

We had sessions at Fiji Pipes, Frigates, Dump trucks, Crusoe's, Sigatoka River Mouth and Jay Jay's. Each spot, other than Sigatoka river mouth was accessed by boat. The boats have plenty of water, fresh fruit and depending on the time out there, fresh sandwiches'. There were a few other surf companies out and about the area but with the vast amount of waves on offer we only had to share some waves on one occasion and that was at Pipes, one of the more popular spots due to the sz of the wave.

Having a fleet of 40 brand new(still in their cardboard packaging) Sunova boards at hand to choose from was a bonus, not only not having to lugg boards thru the airport but being able to try different sizes, styles and fin setups all on the same wave on the one day was a treat.

The only downside for me, if you can call it that, was the afternoon trades winds that messed up the surf a bit but dragging out the kites and doing epic 35km down winders, hitting reef break after reef break, down looping thru blue lagoons, chasing trigger fish and turtles, you soon forgot about the blown out surf. There was always going to be another day, another surf session and more scones tomorrow..Thumbs up to all those that made this trip happen.

Not as much SUP'ing in the vid as I wanted, hampered by a few skill & technical issues.

Cool review Dean and nice video , I'm back there in a few weeks and loving the fact Andrew has boards on hand now makes it so easy. I'll also be packing the kite gear and maybe Sup Foil

Fantastic review. Geez, you're setting the bar pretty high with your video aren't you? Video from the nose of the board just isn't going to cut it anymore!

Looks like a great trip though! Not having to share waves is a huge bonus. Are all the boards Speeeds or did they have Flows or Acids too?

There was quite a range, lots of speeds in all different sz's, some 14ft Faast, style, flow, Tankard longboard, and Acid I think, we only opened what we wanted to use so I didn't get to see the rest of the boards
