Anybody surfed this reef in front of the hotel ? Just wondering what it's like ? Prevailing winds in October ?

There is generally a 2-3 foot right hander straight out front , when it gets bigger it just shuts down also definitely NOT a low tide wave. There are a few waves either side of it within paddling distance , hammocks about 200m to right is my pick and can hold a much bigger swell. Our summer months means less wind and swell for Fiji but generally it's windy most afternoons.

Very hot in summer and can be wet but I have had some great holidays in December. April to September really nice . Good waves but can get windy. The lagoon out front is very tidal so try and line up the high tide for early morning surfs and that way you will get a late surf in as well. The weather is really tropical if it does rain it's normally heavy but for a short period and then the sun comes out. I really never plan when I go , I just get away when I can. You will always get a wave and diving is year round.

Thanks, Piros. After 15 years in PNG and 30 in Darwin can relate to "hot. .....wet"!

Agree with Piros
any time you can get away and get over there
the way the weather is changing in the world its a hard call to say when its an ideal time
so go when you can and enjoy the Fijian culture
the beachouse can also organize to get over to heaps of surf breaks in there fast boats even cloud break if they have the numbers
its a relaxed place to stay with plenty of options and things to do
here's an old race flyer from a race I did back in 2012
