Whats everyone's favorite paddle? Had a Shaka Puu that got snapped in half by wave. Looking at the quick blades. Paddles look sweet! Probably leaning back toward Kialoa, but was looking at the Quickblade the other day and they look really well made. Any comments?

My favorite paddle is the poo.. The Kialoa Shaka Pu'u..

If it's for the surf it's the Kialoa Methane for sure.. It's the shape of the shaft that makes the Kialoa's so special for me.

If it's small paddles that you like Kialoa have a new one coming called the Pipes.

I've used it.. I didn't notice much diference between it and the cheaper white wave blade.. (except it's slightly lighter). It's big and chunky compared with my Kialoa.. The shaft is good but it's the same shaft as the white wave blade.. It would be a good paddle for the surf if you like big blades but I wouldn't want to use it for long distances but it all comes down to what you're used to.

Yep, very well made in the US, not Asia. Also the lightest paddles on the market, yet they don't break.

In my opinion Kialoa and Quickblade are the top dogs. It comes down to whether you like flat blade or dihedral blade.

I am leaning toward the Quickblade Kanaha. Checked one out the other day and started salivating. Talked to a local team rider guy and he said that he loves this paddle. Super strong and light. Any comments on the dihedral and how it affects the ride on a wave?

It stops any flutter which I got with other paddles. When riding waves it seems to glide across the surface really nicely. Very nice paddle. Very well made.

I have used a few paddles and the best for me is the QB 8.7 elite race, this is what i use for my distance paddling and for my wave riding i use the Naish wave.

We have been trying a lot of different paddles of late and getting feedback from customers, mainly focussing on Kialoa and Quickblade.

Best surf paddle
Kialoa Methane and Quickblade 8" Slimline.

Best All round paddle (surf and flat water)
Kialoa Shakka Pu'u and Quickblade 8.7" Kanaha

Best race/distance paddle
Quickblade 8.7" Race Elite

Value for money Performance vs weight vs cost
Carbon/composite blade Naish, Quickblade Kanaha and Kiakaha.

Best Family adjustable paddle
Naish or Bic adjustable or the Quickblade Kanaha adjustable-

Best features
Kilaoa eliptical shaft. Quickblade EVA handle.

We have also heard good reports about the C4 Stendy adjustable and the Kiakaha paddles.

Also good to see some good Aussie paddles coming on line as well!

Hilly, took your advice and bought a QB Kanaha. Waiting for a chance to test it out. Light, sweet looking paddle. I am used to the Kialoa T-Handle, so the QB handle does feel a little strange to me.

Have 1 x KiaKaha carbon/kevlar and 1 x QB 8.7. Love them both. Prefer the QB when the conditions are super clean and no wind and the KiaKaha when the going is heavy and windy and I really need to know I can count on my paddle. The kiakaha is a bit heavier but it does feel more solid and tougher than the QB.

I've got a nice paddle quiver Quickblade ,C4 , both the Corebans (which are really nice) and I have just ordered a Kiakaha (haven't go it yet) plus a couple I have made but at this stage I just love the original Quickblade nice shaft flex and great for surfing , a really clean blade with great entry and exit.

How I have never snapped I don't know it's a year and a half old with only minor dings after bouncing off reefs in PNG. My mates use Kialao's and love them it''s great we such a great choice. My advice is buy a good paddle start up .

Really happy with my werner spanker - nice and long, light and very durable - had it for two years now.

However when it comes to using it in the surf I'd like something a bit shorter, with a smaller face, thinner shaft, nice and light without the hefty price tag that comes with the off the shelf carbons. LSD, I may give you a buz soon.
