Fanatic distributor Adam Quinn came to town this weekend with a brand spanking new 14' Flatwater prototype board for us to demo. Test pilot is Dave Hunt. We did a speed test on a set course against the production release 14' Open Ocean version, and I had in mind to do a split screen to show the differences on the water. However the test was compromised by changing wind conditions so I decided to just post the video of the flatwater board. For the record, the flatwater board completed the 650 metre course 20 seconds faster, but again, the changing conditions discredited these results.

Nice vid Paul.. You did well to keep with Dave at the start of that vid.. and nice move cutting the corner to keep up near the end.. .. I could head Dave's paddle screaming in pain with the force he was putting through it.. I like the solid colour bottom rather than the Starboard type sanded through finish.. Board looks great.

Geez, I knew red was fast, but Dave made it go waaay faster!

It will be interesting doing another comparo with the production versions of both in calm conditions.
