The fanatic race fin is pretty similar just weighs a tonne.

Jamies fin design has its heritage in a traditional fin template used on log Longboards for a long time. Fluid Foils themselves have been doing this for years and years.

It looks pretty similar to the fin below released about 5 years ago. Shapers does a 'very similar' version called the Axe.

Almost a fin joke....."Four married guys go surfing and got into this conversation:

First guy: "You have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out surfing this morning. I had to promise my wife that I will paint every room in the house next weekend."

Second guy: "That's nothing, I had to promise my wife that I will build her a new deck for the pool."

Third guy: "Man, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I will remodel the kitchen for her."

The fourth guy just smiles. So they asked him. You haven't said anything about what you had to do to be able to come surfing this weekend. What's the deal?"

Fourth guy: "I just set my alarm for 5:30 am. When it went off, I shut off my alarm, gave the wife a nudge and said, "Surf or Sex" and she said,

"Wear sun-block."

I once had a fin just like that new Danny Ka-Ching fin and didn't like it.. IMO .. The tip area is the most important part of the fin and the part that's working for you the most.. That fin looks like it would be good for one thing.. Going straight and holding a straight line.. and shed weed.. No wonder he likes it all the way back because moving it forward would do zilch and feel bad.. So for a race board with boxy rails that is made to just go straight that fin would be fine.. I like the look of the two fins that CMC posted.. Less base area allowing the fin to twist and bigger tip area that has curve so it won't catch if it touches.

Nice.. I like the 'sort of cutaway' that reduces the length of the base of the fin..

That would then allow more movement in the box and further back if nessarry.

Say I had a very light 12'6 with a bit of a loose tail that feels like it needs to be "anchored" down, what if any of the fins above would work? Or any other suggestions.

At the moment I am running the G10 26cm (10.2') fin that comes with the Fanatic's as that is the only race fin I have. This feels pretty good but still a little loose. I guess I just want to play around with a few but don't know where to start.

How big would you go Hilly? 10', 13', 15'

That's a pretty big fin already and you shouldn't need to go bigger.. Maybe the shape's not working for you.. IMO if you're having tracking issues with that fin maybe there's something else going on.. Maybe it's where your standing or how you're paddling.. Also I've been thinking about how using G10 for a SUP race board fin is way overkill.. Windsurfing puts huge loads on the fin and using G10 makes sense.. Paddlng puts next to nothing so IMO it's not needed.. The only other fin that I would recommend trying instead of that Fanatic fin is maybe the big 10.5" dolphin shaped fin that comes on the big . It's a good shape with plenty of area in the tip.

Hi surf4fun

i run the fluid foils 10" hatchet in my 12'6" fanatic and it sounds like just what you are looking for, it's also fun to put in the suplove challenger for a bit of a change.
