Anyone planning on finding some surf on either coast over the Easter break?

Hey Woody,
I'll be down the Peninsula Sat arvo/Sunday/Mon am.
With the wind conditions, best we can hope for is a Flinders sesh.
West coast will most probably be blown out.

I know a few spots that will provide.

Enjoyable paddle this morning.

Yeah will be one of those "get the map out" and find somewhere the wind will be OK.

West coast will be onshore all weekend which isn't good for the Bells Comp. Maybe a
morning over the 4 days that will be OK but wouldn't hold my breath.

Ross, can you get out Sunday anytime?

Hi Mike.. FYI your board (Naish 14) went well in the SHQ race on the weekend.

Rosscoe paddled it well.. All the way following Rea I think..

Here's heaps of pics from the race in case you missed it.. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=63983

You'll have to paddle it yourself at the next (and last) race in a couple of weeks time.

Oh yeah.. there's more professional pics here.. www.whitecapsphotography.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=8574085

Fingers crossed for another good down-winder soon..

Hey Mike...I have your 14'er and a 9'3" PSH in the garage. Hope the trip went well...catch you tonight maybe.

Brendon...yep I'm in for a surf anytime over Easter other than Sat morning.

DJ...slight correction required, to get the record straight, I was sitting in about 6th or 7th most of the race but Jonathon got round me on the turn (need more time on a 14'er to get the turns nailed) and someone got past me just on the line, but it wasn't Rea. I don't think she was far behind though.

Flinders sounds great! We have booked a mini bus and trailer to get 15 of us over from the Surf Coast.

Hey Woody,
I'm heading to Balnarring straight after work tomorrow, I'll be down there until Mon morning. I expect a late Flinders session tomorrow and again Sun arvo and again Monday early.

Let me know if you're coming down.

Warwick and Paul,

It's looking a bit dodgy, but if there is a wave and not too much easterly wind I'll head down there. Monday morning is looking best, wind-wise, but the swell is dropping, so the beaches will be the go then.

Might see you around.

Hey Warwick, you'll be pleased to hear that ALsUP was really making great use of the new Starboard down at PRK early this morning before the easterly blew up and wrecked everything. DJ and I rocked up to see LSD on a kite, Surfiechick and OG Sup taking a few snaps, and the youngest Snow boy playing with a skim board. When the locals have put away their SUP boards, you know conditions are not ideal. But we went out anyway, and along with Oliver, had some modest fun that maybe only barely justified the early wake up and long drive. Any time on the water is a good time, and all that.

I wouldn't mind heading somewhere at some stage. Will be the first outing into surf so I wouldn't mind going somewhere there will be other SUP'ers. Will probably take the mal and the SUP wherever it is I end up.

Hey Woody you guys get the thumbs up just for paddling all the way out.

Next time just walk out to the sand where Niki was standing and paddle 30m to the point.

Ride the wave in and walk back around or Nesha for a price is happy to quiver cady your sweet ride back to the point for you as many times as you like laughs!

Kristi took one look and refused to get the board of the roof, Niki by that time was already half way to the point to get set up with me hobbling about 100m behind.

Word for the wise if Dean is on the Kite then conditions SUCK and then some.

Was great to catch up with you and DJ

Phill

Yeah, you are right Woody. it was sh1t but it was kind of great in another way - my salad and chicken sandwich from the overcrowded anglesea bakery tasted much better than it normally does. And I really enjoyed seeing all the suckers in traffic jams heading up the west coast on the way back.

If they had made their annual west coast pilgrimage 6 hours earlier, like we did they wouldn't have had any problems.
