Been trying to motivate myself for something like this but nothing like someone to spur you on.

Will it be a return trip. ie start at half moon , finish there too ?

Going to be a ridiculously early start from Ivanhoe, but what the heck, I'm in.

Winds: Variable wind to 10 knots and afternoon and evening seabreezes to 20
knots. Seas: Below 0.5 metres increasing to 1 metre by early evening. Patchy
morning fog with reduced visibility. The chance of thunderstorms in the
afternoon and evening.

Temp is supposed to be a very mild 22 degrees

A few of us will be there and paddling just before 6am, but we'll set off 6.15 - 6.30, paddle for an hour. Round trip back to Sandy is around 40 - 60 mins.

At this stage there should be 8 - 10 of us.

Was it worth getting up at 5am to paddle with some mates.. You Bet-cha.. .. It was one of those hot summers nights where you couldn't sleep anyway..

Getting there it seemed like it was still the middle of the night.



We were soon off and there were at least ten of us.



Paul (PT Cruiser) had his new Starboard Pin... Very nice.





After paddling up to sandy and back we checked out the sinking Cerberus.





Mick was on his 12' PSH gun.



Warwick dives in to cool off.





The water there at Half Moon Bay is always crystal clear.



What a great way to start the day.

I was in the other day and found this out. Its supposed to be a few kgs lighter (not sure how many) and the price diff is about +$600
