I saw a kid this afternoon sitting on this new version of the skaters longboard. He was using it as a bench to eat his pie. It didn't look like a very comfortable bench, but that looks like a blast if on some smooth ashphalt. I'd hate to catch an edge, though, when pulling off one of those drifts.

I agree with chrispy, the sensations of riding a nice hill on a longboard are much more similar to snowboarding.

Anyway, this is the best vid I have seen. Kyle Chin has a fantastic style...

great vids and alot of freedom, a couple of decades ago I sold my golden breed skateboard... from a hospital bed, broke both bones in my lower leg speeed skating late one night down new bitumen roads in to the carpark at highpoint shopping centre before it opened, it was built into a disused quarry, the new boards have there is greater control and flexibilty, the old boards were down the line types that had a few disadvantages [ three operations, screws, plaster, calipers,rehab }

Thanks.. That was awesome.. Groomed powder..mmmmmmmm..

That's my type of snowboarding and my board is just like the red one in that vid.. Hard boots and big cranking GS type turns.. Love it.

Dale Chapman and I have been drifting on our short boards for around a year now and it is a whole lot of fun. It's very similar to snowboarding. Here are a few pics.
