Hi guys and girls,
To celebrate the opening of the new Kite Boarding HQ shop at the St Kilda Sea Baths, we have been asked to participant in a social downwinder (SUP/KITE/KAYAK/STREET SUP) from Brighton Beach to St Kilda Sea Baths this Sunday 31 October 2010 commencing at 12pm.
The downwinder will be for the entire watersport community! The downwinder will conclude in front of Republica Bar at the Sea Baths. Participants will be treated to free live music, prizes and giveaways and heavily discounted Kite/SUP gear.
St Kilda SUP will assist with shuttling participants back to Brighton Beach.
Boards and paddles will be on offer for those wishing to hire. This will be a relatively easy downwinder with lots of participants doing it for the first time. No need to register, just turn up before 12pm and join the floating peloton for a fun afternoon!
For more information, please don't hesitate to call us on 0416 184 994

Sounds good guys.. but with a forcast of 15-20 knots southwest it's gunna be hard work on a stand up.. The kiting guys should have a ball.
I'll be there to check it out.. Fingers crossed it's a good one.. if not it will be good to catch up.

The new forcast is now saying Nor-west and strong enough to do a DW'er from St Kilda to Brighton beach.. Let's hope we get a good size group doing it.

After looking at a few different wind prediction sources, it seems that it is a reasonable chance to start NW and then go to SW at some point...
Wait and see.

NW? SW? Oh well, at least we won't be blown out to sea.

It'll be my first time back in the water on a SUP in 3-4 months. Went out on the mal last week at Torquay, was nice to be back in the water. Me and a mate will head down and hopefully we get a favourable wind. If not, we'll be there to say hola :)
