Hi All

I have been taking the kids for paddles in the marina and they all love it. Silly me, I have four and so far we have been doing it by doubling up on boards and getting the young fella to paddle a mal.

He whinged like crazy about paddling it last time (its a bit wobbly admittedly but he didn't fall in) and I would love them all to paddle their own so this is a desperate call out for a cheap SUP.

I don't care what dimensions or what condition. It just has to be cheap!!!! Even if you have a big old downwinder that will be fine cos we can mix up that with what we've got between grown ups and kids.

I'll even take one of those Anaconda Guy Leech boards at the right price.

Also, anyone with some cheap paddles it would be greatly appreciated.

Now, I have read these sort of posts before and people often suggest old windsurfers. I don't know crap about windsurfing so if you have one of those that you think will serve my purpose, could you please explain to me what it is and why it will suit.

Really appreciate any help guys, I've got a six year old that would already be ripping a short board if I could think of a good beach to take him down to learn on (talented but timid) but I've got a pretty uncoordinated 9 year old and a semi talented 11 year old that aren't interested in surfing but love to paddle. And the 18mo loves to sit on the front of a sup and watch the seagulls. Anything to keep them away from Wii and cartoons!

Cheers

Hilly where did you get that gear from? As you can see from my pic we have a couple of those foamies and although the 6 y.o can actually stand on them when they're not moving, I don't think it is stable enough for him to paddle. The other two are monsters and can barely lie on them without sinking them. I've seen a few bigger ones around but I'd hate to buy it and then still have him spewing at me cos its too wobbly.

ShireSUP I don't think we have costco here in WA. But that would be the go I reckon, then I probably wouldn't have to carry everyone's board down to the beach, plus they love bashing them into the rocks, sand, each other etc so soft would be good.

Get an old sail board for the kids. 2 just got thrown out on my street last week for the hard rubbish collection. They would have been perfect.

you can sometimes find old windsurfers at the balcatta tip...

but they weigh a ton so you'll have to do all the lugging...

hillys and goatmans option look the best....
