I have a DC 12' 6 BOP board, i love it, its stable, surfs well, it did really well in our recent SUPSA club downwinder last Sunday, picked up the small runs nicely, and it cuts through the flat water with ease too
Ive seen Dale catch boat wake in the river on the BOP, once he's in posistion, he pulls the paddle out of the water and coast's behind the boat without putting a stroke in...pretty cool to watch :)
But with anything its each to their own, and what you feel most comfortable on.
Good luck

on the subject of dc 12'6 s travis grants newie of dale is very slick. imo, the one thing about dales 12'6's they usually surf really well too - not just ****ty little waves.

in general, one thing about when getting a 12'6 is- do you want to be the fastest in the flat or do you want a board that can handle a bit of rough water, go through waves and actually surf waves. imo, i haven't seen a really fast 12'6 that can "bop" really well too.get some onshore crappy conditions and having the fastest board means zip.

ideally, anyone semi to seriously into racing or just loves it would probably need two 12'6 s
cheers

I'm no legend, but I reckon Travis Grant and Jamie Mitchell could paddle pallets and still do alright so it not a good idea to listen to the plugs by the business above. DC has a good design but Dale is a surfer and has a surfer background and is new to the race thing, Jamie or should I say bersie has been shaping race craft for a while, He has a good idea from years of multi-surf sport feedback.. In other words much of a muchness. They're all very similar.... get on and try em. In WA we don't have the same variety you guys do so we paddle pallets, not for long.

Sorry not a plug for a business. I'm just a paddler that has time to paddle a variety of boards. Watching guys on these boards (eg Travis and newer paddlers others swapping around) and the new JM design is awesome. Try it before you use the old 'they could paddle any thing and win". I like Dale's design but Jamie has come up with a great board.

$1500 good luck buying one at that price!!!! just remember just because you read it on seabreeze does not mean it's true and sometimes you only get half the story.
