Cronulla Sutherland SUP Club had its second club day on Sunday (27th March). Thanks to Jappy for getting it up and running. We had a great day made special as Stuart and the Suplove Team were there with demo boards, a game of SUP ball and a really good energy and SUP vibe. Stuart was fantastic with his advice on paddle technique and turns. Just showed us what the average paddler can learn from a high level SUP master. Had a paddle on the Suplove Stingray flat water racer (work in progress prototype I think by the look of it). In my opinion as I am not nuch of a racer. This board sits low in the water and seems to feel like there is very little resistane as it just glides thru the water. Like a hot knife thru butter. Cheers Stuart and Jappy
Have to agree completely. Very good vibe about this club, and am glad to be in at the start of something I'm sure will get much bigger. Great bunch of guys, I'd be happy to hang out with at any time. SUPLOVE Stuart -if you ever get a chance to meet him, take the opportunity. He's a real asset to the sport and has a great passion and attitude for the paddle community, and a wealth of knowledge and experience. Amazing homegrown boards too. Pete and Lou (absent this time but normally in amongst it), thanks for making both the club and the social day a reality. A good day all round, look forward to next weekend. Bring on the River Race. Jase.
hey Jas I got there eventually about 1.30pm - just in time to miss out on the last bacon & egg roll ! Steve did a great job as usual wih the BBQ, and of course Stu Murray was a hoot to have around. I did miss the SUPball, but from all accounts everyone was out there on the water getting involved !
Here are some photos I took from later in the day:
