TT,

Firstly, great work! I have a chain blade (not sure of the actual brand) for my 5" angle grinder, works a treat for carving & 'exaggerating' natural grain on aged & recycled timber...just keep your fingers clear - or you won't have to worry about them again.

I've also seen one of these in action, smooth cutting & shaping...

If all else fails - request for xmas!?

Do you have a carving bar, or just run a stock on. Small saw I'm guessing something in the 50cc range. Those arbortech carvers are very good.

Nice work BTW.

No carving bar mate , so kick backs a bitch. I am going to invest in a some proper carving gear , the arbotech stuff posted looks good.I have a little saved , was going to invest in a new board , now im encouraged to spend it on some carving gear insteadMy PSH will have to do me for a while yet.

good to have another hobbie for when the surf is crap hey. Regarding the kick back, depending on what chain you are running, you can do some mods to the raker and cutter that will reduce this. These are normally done for racing, specificly bore cutting. But it should cross over as it is the tip usage thats the trouble area. Most of the chain sold with saws these days is a safety type chain. Bloody horrible stuff that chatters even in a normal cross cut, let alone a bore. If I see you in the surf Ill try to remember to tell you about the chain.

Chainsaw racing? WTF? Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't googled it, but I s'pose it's not that big a leap from the woodchop we all know & love...
