When the water is clear out the front you can see every grain of sand on the bottom - water temp around 23-24 degrees and we often get Dolphins swimming past.
This is a super secret spot that headland is Burleigh Heads where they are supping is Tally Creek. You won't be welcome at Burleigh on your Sup so just stick to creek mouth.

Not my local but was at the Gold Coast this weekend and happened to be walking with my camera (and my wife of course) at 8am where I knew there would be SUPing happening. Here's some photo's from the National Park side.
