I think it will be only a matter of time before someone tries to manufacturer a flat water only cat type SUP. That is if SUP gets big enough. I think about making one most times I paddle, especially when I'm getting passed by other types of paddling/rowing craft.

I was on holiday recently in Hong Kong and we were going to one of the many markets, when we passed a section of beach and in the water was one of those watercraft, and he had an umbrella and a chair (may as well have had a bar on the thing just to make it that bit more luxurious) set up on it. I reckon if they'd be awesome on smaller waves - they look easier to catch waves on than with SUP boards! If I knew how to post pictures, I'd show you the one in Hong Kong.

Hi sparki,

Once logged in, click on "Photos", then go to the SUP section. On the top right it has "Upload" button. Click that and it will come up with the upload screen. Click select, find file. Then add etc. Once your finished it should give you a link. Paste this link into your post and that should do it.

The boards don't look particularly robust, I reckon 1 session in the surf and the yellow one would fall apart within half an hour. The connectors between the two parts of the board look flimsy in the photo. The straight edge between them make me think these were normal boards cut in half. Are these guys actually paddling them or are they making a toothpaste ad?
