I 've come accross this video from Todd Bradley explaining why the Vortice doesn't come with a rudder system ,it appears that C4 have designed this board so it's shape doesn't need one.

Check it out on

I'd be interested to here from other breezers after hereing what Todd Bradley has said on this video if they perfer the rudder system or not?

Cheers

Boylos

Hey Boylos,

The technology they are using for self centering or working to weather in the vortice with channels has been around for years in vessels, just not applied to SUP.

The use of multistage rocker especially on true longboards or guns around 12ft long works exactly the same way as described here.

If you take any of the Munoz boards (10,11,12ft) for a ride in small surf due to the exagerated rocker they have very very similar so called geared characteristics or variable sweet spot.

I have been chatting to a couple of the custom designers as with my weight an of the rack DW board probably will not suit me.

Its interesting that they dont think there is any advantage in using carbon until you get above the 12.6 class.

I will be interested to see the first of the Outlaw Races in Vicco.

Cheers Phill , so do you think there's any advantage with the rocker style system in the Vortice compared to a rudder set up like they have on the F16 /Dale Chapman boards?

Are you going in the Outlaw Races ?

I'm sure DJ will be out there somewhere!
