"The Sunny Coast crew playing around on 12'6x27'.5 Race and 12'6x26'.5 Race BOP Starboards last week"
Would love to here your thoughts on the Red 12'6 x 27'.5 Race?
Honestly, I've been paddling one now for about 2 mths. It mightn't be the super
quickest flat water board but WOW get that thing in the ocean and it excel's!! I've been experimenting on alot of different types of 12'6 and 14 foot boards over the last two years, my number one would be the 14' SIC which Woogie and myself used in the molokai-2-oahu race last year. But in a close second that Starboard 12'6 Race is bloody excellent! I think the best thing about the 12'6 Race is, put it in any conditions from 5 to 30kts and it is so much fun and killer fast!! ![]()

Nice work though kids, can't beat skills sessions, you've definatly got it sussed cause your both killing me in the ocean!
I concur Jonesy.
Not so sure about the BOP board but I have the Red 12'6 x 27'.5 Race and it is just plain fun for downwinding and surfing those offshore reefs and river mouths. Doesn't take much to get them plaining whereas I find the BOP style boards never really get accelerate in the runs...I have an SIC Bullet but often prefer the Starby Race for Downwinding as it is just so much fun in the close period chop. ![]()
