(the forum) He hires boards Jimmy Lewis and starboard i think? Other than that just behave yourself and surf to your ability.

i took my own 9'0 on virgin no problems.
going in november you are going to be suppin mostly on the sanur/nusa dua side of the island as the winds aren't too good that time of the year for the bukit or west coast.

for sure the VIP customs thing is amazing. off the plane with my visa, luggage and boards and in the van within 20 minutes. and it only cost 60 bucks which includes your 25 dollar visa charge. well worth the cost.

Any other hotels, its between Mecure and Hyatt in Sanur which has best SUP access

^ Yep I met him too he gets around, he was mixing up some special drink for Rondha, I think he fancies her.

I just came back from two weeks over there, I did that much SUPing and kiting that there was a couple of days that I just couldn't paddle anymore because my arms were so sore.

I went with Air Asia and paid $50 for an extra 40kg sporting goods allowance on top of my regular 20kg which covered 2 kite/surfboards, a 9'2 SUP, paddle, 3 kites, a harness, 2 bar and lines etc.
I have never taken so much gear but it was no real drama as I had transport arranged from the airport (Ketut actually) straight to my accommodation which was right on the beach and meant I had all conditions covered...awesome trip.

Where did you stay Tightlines ??? and how was Airasia, they certainley seem the cheapest of the airlines from Perth by a long way.

Yeah I had Padang epic in dec in 1997 for 4 days straight !!!

I know that Hyatt was in the middle of renovation.. You may want to check!
Mercure is right in front of Simzy reef and close to the Wreck and Oka Point..
Mercure In my opinion is very family friendly with huge beach and also nice Yoga Studio.

In memory of our great friend Simon that passed away not long ago, we decided to name after him one of his favorite waves in Sanur!
We use to call this spot Blue Reef and looking toward the ocean is the first break right from the Light Tower.....
He loved to surf and kite there and we know that when riding his wave he will be always close to us!
RIP Simon you are greatly missed...

Far away from the beach just right to the light house. Rarely surfed! Only by few locals kids. Is our best SUPS spot we have found so far! Can be reached in 15 minutes of paddling. Best in no wind. Need some size to be breaking but if too big it will close out. Give you a great ride with a nice channel to be able to paddle out

Just back from Bali staying at the Villa Puri Ayu & hiring from Jankie. Can recommend both. Short walk to the beach & the hire boards are kept at Villa. Had right to myself one morning & shared it with some locals (prone) on another occasion. Very good vibes - excepy for another SUPer who kept dropping in! Loved it!!
