How much fun is fishing. After looking at the weather maps there was going to be no waves to go Surfing and no wind to go for a Downwind Paddle. So I decided to go fish trawling on the jet-ski. I started reminiscing about all the times I've gone fishing trawling on Namotu Island, Fiji but usually I'm so flyblown drunk with Scotty when we're fishing in Fiji. Namotu is the best place on the planet. So yesterday afternoon I decided to go to BCF and stock up on some new lures. I was like a little grommet in a toy shop at Christmas time, I couldn't help myselfp (Help Me Please Mr Wizard) wanted to buy every lure I laid eyes on, it cost me a fortune on the credit card and checked out some you tube videos on fishing with a jet ski when I got home. My next mission is to get some rod holders installed on the Jets-ski. It will be my 1st time I've ever trawled in Australia. So I've rocked up at Currumbin Creek at 5:30 AM to launch the jet-ski - while I was launching the jet-ski there must have been 40 people on 12'6” SUP's training it'd be great fitness but I'm not into 12'6''. I thought I'd give Palm Beach reef a trawl and see how I go. I was cruising around 6 knots e.g. 11km/hr just going up and back after about 2 hours I was about 200 metres off Burleigh Heads when all of a sudden my reel has gone”zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz” (I got so excited I nearly pulled my pants down and fired a rocket). So I put the reel in my rod holder and went pullback winddown pullback winddown all the while the reel was going “zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz” it was BULK FUN then all of a sudden I saw this 3ft Black Marlin breaching out of the water about 40ft from my jet-ski while I'm pulling back winding down, thinking this is just GOLD. After about 10 minutes of tug-a-war with the black marlin I got it right next to the jet-ski and she threw the line. I was a bit cut losing the black marlin but hey I reckon I would have let it go. Tell you what a black marlin looks very pretty up close. Until next time tight lines.

Hate to be picky Phil but just a technicality.
Trawling is what you do with nets on a trawler and trolling is what you call it when you drag lures around.
