G’day green menace hope the waves been pumping for you on the Sunny Coast.
In 2007 I freighted a SIC f16 back to Australia with QANTAS Airlines it cost me $2,000 dollars. I’ll break it down $900 in air freight $600 in GST $500 for Customs it’s BULK expensive.
In 2008 I asked Air NewZealand if I could bring a SIC f16 back as luggage I explained to them the board is 16 feet long Air NewZealand said no problem. I got hassled at Honolua airport about the over sized SUP and had to sign a weaver it’s not the airlines fault if the board got damaged. Anyway the f16 got trashed so I took Air NewZealand to court and sued them under
Duty Of Care the SIC f16 cost me $2,500 so Air NewZealand gave me $2,500 plus paid for the court cost and my loss of one days wages. I got the board fixed and sold it for $2,500 some poor bugger owns it in WA.
In 2010 I found someone bringing back a container I asked if I could put my SIC f18 it’s 18 and a half feet long all up it cost me $450 dollars. I got a fake receipt and told customs I had used it in Hawaii
STOKED.
In 2010 I freighted my Bullet back by ship I told customs I used it in Hawaii with a receipt saying I paid $1,500 for the board all up I paid freight and customs $850
I have all the Downwind Boards I will ever need now in Australia.
