I went for a paddle on the Lane Cove river at lunch time today and managed to get a couple of photos with a mates Olympus uTough 8000 (i'm thinking of getting the newer uTough 8010). I paddled from the start of Mowbray road (near the entrance to the Lane Cove tunnel) to the Lane Cove River Steakhouse and back.
There is a wooden walkway that goes from near the parking area through the bush/trees down to the water.
It can be a bit slippery especially if there has been a bit of rain ...
... but there is another way to get there - some stone steps that are much closer to the pontoon that you can launch from. The start of the steps are near to the "totem pole".
The actual stone steps leading down to the last bit of the wooden walkway and then on to the pontoon.
Looking back up the wooden walkway.
The bridge out on to the pontoon.
Looking up the river.
Chatswood in the background.
The DJ shot.
The Lane Cove River Steakhouse.
Looking back down the river.
The pontoon from out on the water.
All in all a fun paddle and a good way to get out of the office for an hour or so.
