camo hosk said...Yer Lacey, looks like your onto something interesting there, although a sup guru once told me to run the fin as far forward in the box as possible

camo i'm able to keep the fin right up on my lh 12'6 but it was different on the 14'. lh boards have there fin setups a lot farther forward then any other boards i've seen. in saying that the fin is only 8. 25 inches and not much tip. all the fin area would add up to not much more area then a 9" hatchet fin. dw ed today. board goes unreal and i'm really pleased with the fin setup. real instant positive turning and gets a bit of whip about too. i had kelly paddle the 12'6 in and out he said there is definitely something there
dj i like the drive the board gets and steers so much better in wakes, surfs more positive. then you get hit be side chop it's softer and you move forward rather then just get pushed sideways two feet
i'm rapt at how hard i can cutback and rebound my 12'6 with this setup. its got some real feel about it rather then that doughy feeling single fin 12'6's have
cheers
ps here is the first time i tried it on a race board
