Same size as you.

Also found the Nalu pretty wobbly when I had a play on a mates a while ago, its those convex decks man.
I can only speak from point of view of somebody who has stuck with only one brand which is Fanatic.
I have two - an older Allwave 9'6 and a slightly less old Prowave 9'6
Both have their moments, but are still a bit on the big side of what many people would prefer.

Nice boards though. I am also somebody who likes to be able to relax a bit when doing my thing, so wobbling around on a little toothpick doesn't really float my boat.

Now I've been doing it 5 years or so I'd kinda like to try something a bit closer to 9 foot, but I have had a whole heap of fun out of them. Both boards are actually fairly manouvreable if you get your feet in the sweet spot :)

Hey Chris, I didn't want to hijack the thread this came from but am interested in the fact you have an allwave and a prowave the same size. I have an allwave as well and enjoy not wobbling around but was wondering if the prowave takes you into the bigger stuff where the allwave gets a bit slidey and struggles to hold a rail?

Boba

I progressed from Allwave 9'6 to Allwave 8'10, then wanted more critical performance.
I had to go to the 9'6 Prowave, because the 9'1 was too small for me.

Even though the Prowave was much bigger, the stability was comparable to the 8'10 Allwave.
The Prowave had thick rails but far out performed the Allwave in bigger waves. Even in smaller waves I preferred it.

STC assume you had a 9'5 Speeed and a 9'6 prowave. Which would you take in bigger, faster conditions?

Awesome, thanks STC. I do like the Allwave 9"1' for a general all round board but if I take it out in bigger, more grunty stuff you can really feel the boxy rails not wanting to hang in there. So I was thinking a prowave of the same size, to take over in the more serious stuff. Will it actually dig in and not slide out?
I'm not too worried about all out performance as I have surfboard for that. But when there is a bit of swell on (where I am) the current starts to run and I'd rather deal with that on a sup.

Aw I'd like to hear that too. But I recon I already know that answer!

Hi Boba

The Prowave hangs in on bigger waves, I never had a problem with it sliding out on anything I rode, which was up to 1.5 OH and sucky. The tail is much narrower and thinner than the Allwave, so none of those issues.
The reason I went from Allwave to Prowave was exactly so I could up my frontside performance on larger waves.
